Prisoner in My Abode

The walls feel/seem/appear like they are closing in/around/upon me. Every room/corner/space is a reminder of my imprisonment/confinement/restriction. I wander/drift/roam from one/each/every to the next/other/remaining, hoping/searching/yearning for an escape, but finding only silence/emptiness/isolation.

My thoughts/feelings/fears are tangled/jumbled/conflicting, a messy/chaotic/uncontrolled tapestry/collection/web of anxiety/despair/hopelessness. The outside world/distant sounds/faint whispers beckon/call/entice me, but I am tethered/bound/chained to this prison/house/shelter.

I long/crave/desire a breath of fresh air/change of scenery/moment of freedom, a taste/smell/touch of anything other than this suffocating/oppressive/monotonous reality.

But for now, I am trapped/stuck/confined. This is my situation/circumstance/fate.

Oh No My Keys!

You dig through your pockets, purse, backpack—every possible hiding place for your keys/car key/little metal friend. But there they are not! Panic sets in/Your heart sinks/You clutch your head. You've fallen victim to the dreaded car key catastrophe/keys gone missing/key emergency.

  • Maybe there's spare under the mat/Did you leave them at work?/Check your coat pockets one last time!
  • This is a nightmare!/You just want to disappear!/The day can't get any worse, right?

Caught Out in a Pickle

It was the real pickle. I was completely locked out of my house. The door was jammed. I had tried each and every key in my wallet, but none of them worked. I felt embarrassed.

My phone was dead. My neighbor wasn't around. What was I going to do? I considered {climbing throughan open vent, but that seemed dangerous. Maybe I could wait it out?

My situation is totally controlled by these annoying little keys. Always I go, they trail to me like burdens.

It's getting me bonkers. I sense like a captive in my own apartment. I can't even envision a time where I'm free from their hold.
